Trenner's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]
“ | I have been watching our country move away from freedom and take on a socialist bent for many years. I do not think we are a socialist nation yet but we are very, very close to the day when we
cannot turn back without a fight. We have been sleeping while forces have worked to change our laws and values. Nevada has been struggling to recover from the real estate crash and the global recession. Government cannot create jobs. It can take your money and hire people to work for the government but only business creates jobs. Taxes block businesses from offering more jobs and the free market is then slowed way down. We have just had a $1.4 billion tax added to our state. That amounts to about $600.00 per person per year. How many are in your family? I believe in small government. I want the free market to flourish and offer jobs and prosperity to all Nevada citizens. Our nation has been a beacon for people all over the world. When our Founders wrote the Constitution they gave us a roadmap to wealth and happiness. Enforcing it has made a strong country for millions of families. In fact, the closer we stay to the Constitution the more prosperity we have. Today we have strayed far from our roots and we are suffering many ills as a society. I will work to make sure all legislation that I vote for or help create… is first and last Constitutional. No more making it up as we go…or waiting for people injured by unlawful laws, to be forced to sue to get laws that are illegal overturned and out of their life.[2] |
