My name is Toby Sidorski, and I am proud to call Pickerington home. Since moving here in July 2014, my wife Shana and I have raised our four children—Ella, Brady, Roman, and Nora—right here in the Pickerington Schools. For 17 years, Shana and I have built our lives on the values I grew up with: community, hard work, and the belief that education is the foundation of opportunity. These principles guide me as a parent, professional, and community advocate.

My career has been rooted in public service and finance, ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and budgets reflect real priorities. From my time at the Ohio Department of Taxation to my current role as an auditor at the Department of Youth Services, I’ve gained firsthand experience in how public funds are managed—and the importance of balancing fiscal responsibility with investing in people.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active, and supporting local events and athletics. Pickerington has given so much to my family, and I am ready to give back by serving our schools and strengthening our community.
  • Supportive of Students - I believe every student deserves smaller class sizes, safe and supportive learning environments, and opportunities to succeed both inside and outside the classroom
  • Strong for Teachers - Teachers deserve a board that stands with them and makes sure they have the tools to help every student succeed
  • Smart for Taxpayers - Committed to making sure every dollar goes directly toward students and respects taxpayers
I’m personally passionate about public policies that directly impact students’ learning and well-being. That includes responsible budgeting to ensure every dollar benefits students, supporting our teachers with the resources they need, and advocating for smaller class sizes so each student receives the attention they deserve
Integrity, Accountability, Forward-thinking and transparent
To serve the best interests of students, support our teachers and staff, and ensure taxpayer resources are spent wisely.
A school board member’s primary responsibility is to ensure every student receives a high-quality education while using taxpayer resources wisely and supporting teachers and the community.
Students, parents, teachers/staff and the community
Pickerington is a wonderfully diverse community, and I am committed to supporting all students, families, teachers, and staff. I will promote equity, ensure resources are used wisely, and provide educators with the support and professional development they need to help every student succeed. I will also actively engage the community to make sure every voice is heard and considered in our decisions.
I will build relationships across our community by actively listening, attending local events, and maintaining open communication with residents. I plan to engage parents, students, teachers, local businesses, civic organizations, and neighborhood associations to ensure diverse perspectives are represented. By fostering these connections, I can make informed decisions that reflect the needs and priorities of the entire Pickerington community.
Good teaching is when educators inspire curiosity, engage students in meaningful learning, and adapt to meet diverse needs. I would measure this through student growth, feedback from families, and support from peers and administrators—not just test scores. To support advanced teaching, I believe in providing ongoing professional development, access to innovative resources, and the freedom for teachers to use creative strategies that help students thrive.
I will work to ensure schools are properly funded by being transparent and fiscally responsible, making sure every dollar is spent in ways that directly benefit students. I will advocate for fair state funding, build trust with the community by showing accountability in spending, and support levy initiatives only when they are clear, necessary, and in the best interest of students and taxpayers.
My policies for school safety are driven by the principles of prevention, preparedness, and respect. Every student and staff member deserves to feel safe at school, so I support proactive measures like mental health resources, strong partnerships with local safety officials, and secure facilities. At the same time, safety policies must be fair, transparent, and foster trust between families, staff, and the district.
Supporting mental health in schools involves providing access to counseling services, promoting awareness and education about mental well-being, and fostering a safe, inclusive environment where students and staff feel heard and supported.
An ideal learning environment is one where teachers have the tools and support to focus on teaching, students have smaller class sizes to get the attention they deserve, and families feel confident their children are safe, valued, and prepared for the future
I will build strong relationships with parents by being accessible, transparent, and open to feedback. I will attend school and community events, hold listening sessions, and maintain clear communication so parents feel informed and included. By working together, we can ensure every child has the support they need to succeed.
I believe the best recruitment strategies are offering competitive pay, creating a supportive work environment, and providing clear opportunities for growth so that Pickerington attracts and retains the very best educators and staff.
I would like to see the curriculum continually adapt to prepare students for the future. This could include expanding STEM and technology programs, incorporating more real-world skills like financial literacy and problem-solving, and ensuring the arts and humanities remain strong so every student can explore their interests and talents.
Artificial intelligence should be used as a tool to enhance learning and support teachers, not replace them. It can help personalize instruction, provide additional resources, and streamline administrative tasks, allowing educators to focus more on student engagement and growth. Any use of AI should be implemented thoughtfully, with proper training, safeguards, and a focus on equity and privacy
In 2001 during a high school golf match, I made a hole in one.
