Martens was a judge for the Washington County Circuit Court in Washington County, Wisconsin. He was elected in 2010 and resigned/retired from the court on March 3, 2022.[1]
Education
Martens received bachelor's' and masters' degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School.[2] He was the Washington County District Attorney from 1999 to 2010, and an assistant in the office from 1991 to 1999. Martens worked at the law firm of Quarles & Brady in Milwaukee prior to joining the Washington County District Attorney's office.[2]

2017
Wisconsin held local judicial elections in 2017. Forty-eight circuit court seats were up for election on April 4, 2017. Three seats required primaries on February 21, 2017, with the top two vote recipients for each seat advancing to the April 4 general election. Thirty-seven seats up for election in 2017 were unopposed.[3] Incumbent Todd K. Martens defeated Robert Olson in the general election for the Branch 3 seat on the Washington County Circuit Court.
