What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Protect neighborhoods by making sure infrastructure and services keep pace with growth- sidewalks, traffic calming, crime prevention among others 2. Invest in public education, support schools and teachers 3. Fight for wage growth, especially for our metro employees

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Neighborhoods, public schools, equal rights

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

We’ve had many great council members in District 18 and I’ll follow the example of that great service

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Making sure I listen carefully to all, regardless of whether I agree with them. Facilitate quality dialogue with a calm temperament and fair practices

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I’m knowledgeable about many issues: I’ve worked on neighborhood issues for many years, and am a career public educator. I’m ready to lead on neighborhoods and schools.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My first job was at Compton’s Foodland. I worked there for 2 years and a simmer in between freshman and sophomore years of college. It taught me hard work and increased my appreciation for the many people in district 18

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the local government?

Council member is a vital office in Nashville because in addition to issues and agenda setting, constituent services is so important. As Hillsboro West End Neighbors President, I’ve been helping my community navigate Metro government to solve problems.
