The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Tom Chase was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Bruce Hodgdon defeated Brian J. Stone in the Republican primary. Chase and Hodgdon faced off in the general election.[1] Incumbent Hodgdon defeated Chase in the general election, and was re-elected for another term.[2]
