Tom Del Beccaro was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. Senate from California.[1]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated California's U.S. Senate race as safely Democratic. California's U.S. Senate seat was open following the retirement of incumbent Barbara Boxer (D). Thirty-four candidates filed to run to replace Boxer, including seven Democrats, 12 Republicans, and 15 third-party candidates. Two Democrats, Kamala Harris and Loretta Sanchez, defeated the other 32 candidates to advance to the general election. Harris won the general election.[2][3]

Today, support of a flat tax is on the rise and with good reasons – both economic and political.
  • California Drought: California Deserves a Comprehensive Solution to Its Water Crisis. Today, the number one issue for many Californians is water. Meeting future demands for water arguably presents California’s most difficult challenge in the years to come. Simply stated, California deserves a comprehensive solution to its water crisis.
  • Foreign Policy: President Obama squanders the currency of foreign policy: trust. Under President Obama if you were a friend before, that friendship may not matter now – a policy which has led to distrust and the weakening of America’s standing nationally. Americans need to stop disbelieving the terrorists. In foreign policy, as in life, it is often wiser to take at face value someone’s pronouncements as to who they are—especially when they make their point with a gun.
  • Immigration & National Security: Our broken immigration system has been bad for the country and a source of political division for well over a decade. Some want a so-called 'comprehensive' solution to the crisis, but the prospects for it actually happening (let alone being a solution) are not good amidst our divisions.
  • The Second Amendment: The Second Amendment, a right of individuals, has been under legislative and judicial assault for some time. Many correlate gun violence with owning a gun rather than placing the blame on criminals. If we want to reduce gun violence, and we should, we should target criminal activity not the lawful ownership of guns.
