My parents both entered service fields when they graduated high school. My mothered entered nursing school and my father was a soldier in Korea and then a career police officer. Together they raised 5 children. All of us earned college degrees - 2 of my siblings earned advanced degrees in law school and medical school.

I've been a student of the state government since they started taking our local taxes and breaking promises to replace them. When our schools needed to raise our property tax to cover operating expenses, I had enough.

I'm running because Ohio is not keeping up and in some cases; specifically, women's reproductive rights, affordable education and filling open jobs, we're going backwards. I'm running because I know we can do better.

Everybody wants good schools for their kids, they want a safe place to live & work and they want their elected officials to be good stewards of the public trust. These issues are important to me because they're important to all Ohioans. These issues are the foundation for creating a better state for our children and grandchildren.
  • Invest in Education: Ensure every child receives an excellent education, invest in public schools and colleges, and demand accountability for all schools receiving public funds and vouchers.
  • Health & Safety: Make healthcare accessible and affordable for all Ohioans. Reduce senseless gun violence and opioid abuse
  • Reproductive Rights: Guarantee women have access to all reproductive healthcare options and protect a woman's right to choose.
Ensure quality public education for all Ohioans.

Invest in reliable infrastructure and create connected communities.

Protect the environment, local rivers, our beautiful Metroparks and Lake Erie.
The best public servants have the best motives; they are unselfish, open-minded and considerate. They must give their best.
Pragmatic problem solver. I'm a rational, logical and deliberate person. I enjoy a good challenge.
Community building, consensus building, inclusiveness and communication.
After college, I went to work for The Close Up Foundation, an education not-for-profit in Washington. Their issue-centric, nonpartisan curriculum is designed to provide participants with a stronger understanding of government institutions, history and current issues and their roles as citizens. I was an instructor and a program administrator for four years.
Shoeless Joe, WP Kinsella. A beautiful story with just enough realism and fiction with baseball as the back story.
The House has 3 times as many members as the Senate and therefore is closer to the people. The Senate, with larger constituencies and fewer members, should be more deliberate, strategic and pragmatic.
It could be but there's no guarantee. Prior legislative experience doesn't give you an monopoly on good ideas, practical solutions or effective leadership.
We need to invest in education, infrastructure, health and safety.
They should be clear about their priorities and build from areas of common agreement. Nobody gets everything so compromise is required.
Not considering that at this time. In general, political office should not become a career.
