Tom Jones is a former Democratic member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 17 from 2012 to 2015. Jones did not run for re-election in 2014.

In March 2014, Jones announced that he would not run for re-election in November.[1] Jones served in the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 17 from 2011 to 2013.

Jones won election in the 2012 election for South Dakota State Senate District 17. Jones ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 5 and defeated John S. Chicoine (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3]
