Campaign themes

2016

McCay's campaign website listed the following themes for 2016:

What if your mayor lived in your neighborhood? What would happen if your mayor was just like you? What if it were possible, to have a truly alternative candidate?

Have you ever had a reason to vote in a Tulsa election? You do now. My name is Tom McCay, and I am running for Mayor of Tulsa to offer Tulsa citizens a truly alternative choice. I offer a new direction from the 10-year Status Quo. There is no real difference between GT Bynum & Dewey Bartlett, who have virtually identical platforms. I acknowledge the duty of Mayor as a civil-servant who is in office to represent the will of the voters. I believe that Tulsa has immeasurable potential to be a great place to live & work, and with proper management could serve its citizens justly. To have and maintain a great city, its own citizens should reap the benefits. I aim to lower costs for Tulsa businesses by extending the life-span of cyclical municipal regulations; i.e. Licenses, Registrations, Permits, Fees, Etc. I propose that the city should raise its revenue by making it easier to start and operate a small business to serve citizens of Tulsa. As your alternative candidate, I am running to encourage unregistered citizens and apathetic registered voters of Tulsa to register and vote- because your vote matters. I am your Pro-semantic candidate: I say what I mean clearly, and I mean it when I say it. Each action I take in office will lead toward small-government, citizen-led, bottom-up policies that minimize how much influence government exerts in our daily lives.

2016 is the year you can stop choosing between "the lesser of two evils". I am your truly alternative choice. [2]
