Elections
2012
Potter ran for North Dakota Commissioner of Insurance in 2012. He was unopposed in the primary election and was defeated by incumbent Adam Hamm (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
Potter was originally running for U.S. Senate in 2012. He said he changed races because the next insurance commissioner would serve during an "interesting period" as “(p)arts of the Affordable Care Act will be implemented.”[3]
