Tom Schlenhardt was born in Chicago, Illinois. He earned a bachelor's degree from Loyola University Chicago in 1992, a graduate degree from the University of Illinois, Springfield in 1995, and a law degree from The John Marshall Law School in 2005. His career experience includes working as a consultant and lawyer.[1]

When my U12 club soccer team won the Illinois state championship. We won on a field in my home town of Northbrook and I was 10 years old.
It should be collaborative in nature with the legislature bringing forth legislation through consultation with state agencies and the governor.
First and foremost is to ensure that the public pension system is independently solvent without increasing property taxes. Lessening the tax burden on small and big business in order to maintain and attract new business. Ensuring public safety.
I do. I think it is crucial to have this experience in order to be an effective representative for their constituents. By having governmental experience, especially state government experience, the legislator will have a working knowledge of how state agencies operate and the issues that need to be addressed. By having political experience the legislator will have a better understanding of negotiating on both sides of the aisle and how to make compromises in order for the greater good.
It is not only beneficial, but imperative to have relationships with other legislators. Those relationships create the bond of trust within the legislature and are the foundation of the legislative process.

Revenue, transportation, local government, and licensed activities.
I believe it is crucial that citizens be allowed to know how their tax dollars are spent and that government entities should be able to produce annual reports showing where every dollar is spent.
