I'm proud to announce that I am running for Bakersfield City Council - Ward 6. With extensive experience in technology and communications, I bring a wealth of knowledge to this position and the ability to tell the stories of Bakersfield in a way that brings investment, opportunity, and growth. I am driven by a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life in our community. My service on the Panama-Buena Vista school board and involvement with Critters Without Litters underscore my dedication to public service and civic engagement. As a former webmaster for the City of Bakersfield and small business owner, I have the practical expertise to drive meaningful change.
  • Economic Development: I aim to foster a thriving local economy by supporting entrepreneurship and small businesses.
  • Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvements: I advocate for equitable infrastructure investments to ensure that Ward 6, the vibrant heart of our community, receives the attention it deserves.
  • Animal Welfare and Pet-Friendly Initiatives: I am committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and providing resources to reduce the stray animal population in our city.
Fiscal responsibility, public sector technology.
The ability to listen to constituents and colleagues, then work with staff to create solutions.
I’m very good at creating solutions that work for everyone and I don’t care who gets the credit.

I was born and raised in Bakersfield and went to school in Panama - Buena Vista. I graduated from UC Berkeley and after working in the dot-com boom and bust, I worked in construction and property management for nearly a decade in the Bay Area. I returned to Bakersfield where I reconnected with my wife who I first met while attending Actis Jr. High. We have three kids (20, 12, and 8) who have all attended the district. I now work as the webmaster for the City Bakersfield. I have 20 years of experience in managing projects both in technology and construction. I understand the work that needs to go in before the first decision is made and how having the right tools is a necessary component of success. I also know that tools don't do the work, people do.
  • We need tech-forward responsible governance on our school board.
  • Our district deserves leadership that is invested in Bakersfield and our community.
  • I graduated from this district and owe much of my success to the teachers here. It's time for me to give something back.
I'm committed to transparency and accountability and making sure that policy is communicated clearly, conveniently, and in language that is easily understood.

I believe that our schools are the hub of our communities and that providing a safe and welcoming learning environment is the first step in building a better future for the valley and for Bakersfield.

I believe in working with everyone to achieve our goals and that partnerships with businesses and collaboration with other public sector agencies will create better learning outcomes.
I try my best not to look up to people because I've learned that you can't be anyone that you're not. I do try to emulate the best qualities I think I see in people. I have had friends and acquaintances that have shown grace, curiosity, compassion, and kindness and those moments stay with me as I make decisions.
I remember the Challenger space shuttle explosion. I think I was in fourth grade at Castle Elementary and the classes had wheeled in televisions to watch
Christa McAuliffe become the first teacher to go into space. When the shuttle exploded, I remember being confused and so sad. I remember having a BMX bike at the time called the Challenger, and I don't know if I was ever able to bring myself to ride it again.
My very first job that wasn't selling cookies or lemonade was working as a busboy at the Rio Bravo Country Club. I worked there for three months before going to college.
