Tom Weldon, Jr. is a former Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 3 from 2009 to 2017.

In late March, 2016, Weldon announced he was withdrawing from the primary election, effectively resigning from his position.[1]

Biography

Weldon earned his B.A. from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and his J.D. from Saint Thomas University School of Law. His professional experience includes working as an attorney at Weldon Law Firm.[2]

Elections for the Georgia House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014, with runoff elections taking place where necessary on July 22, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent Thomas D. "Tom" Weldon, Jr. was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[10][11][12]

In 2008 Weldon was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives District 3. Weldon (R) finished with 13,989 votes while his opponent Ralph Noble (D) finished with 6,068 votes.[17] Weldon raised $53,845 for his campaign fund.[18]
