Tommy Gollott
Thomas A. "Tommy" Gollott (b. September 29, 1935) is a former Republican member of the Mississippi State Senate, representing District 50 from 1980 to 2019. He retired before the end of his term on July 1, 2019.[1]
When Gollott was first elected to the chamber, he was a registered Democrat. In the 2007 Mississippi state senate elections, Gollott switched his party affiliation to the Republican Party.[2]
Gollott served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1968 to 1980.
Biography
Gollott attended the University of Southern Mississippi and Jefferson Davis Junior College. His professional experience includes working as the owner of Transfer and Storage Company.

Elections for the Mississippi State Senate took place in 2015. A primary election was held on August 4, 2015, and the general election was held on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[3] No Democratic candidates filed for election. Incumbent Thomas Gollott was unopposed in the Republican primary. Gollott ran unchallenged in the District 50 general election.

Gollott won re-election to the Mississippi Senate District 50. He ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. No candidates ran in the Democratic primary. Gollott defeated Travis Burke (Independent) in the general election on November 8, 2011.[4]
