Tommy Williams (Texas)
Tommy Williams (b. December 17, 1956) is a former Republican member of the Texas State Senate, representing District 4. He was first elected to the chamber in 2002, and he resigned October 26, 2013.
On October 2, 2013, Williams reportedly announced to his staff that he would be resigning from the state senate. Other sources separately told the media that Williams had been approached about a government relations position with the Texas A&M University System.[1] Williams resigned his seat in a letter to Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, effective on October 26, 2013.[2]
Williams served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1997 to 2002.[3]
Biography
Williams earned his B.B.A in accounting from Texas A&M University. His professional experience includes working as an accountant for Insurance and Financial Services.[3]

Williams ran in the 2012 election for Texas State Senate, District 4. Williams defeated Michael Galloway in the May 29 primary election and defeated Bob Townsend (L) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6]
