I was born and raised in Lewiston, Maine, and attended the University of Maine at Augusta, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Financial Services. After meeting my husband, I moved to Topsham in 2016 where we raise our two children. Over the last couple of years, I found myself feeling very uncertain about the political future of Topsham and the State of Maine as a whole and I took that as my call to action to run for a House seat. Although I am new to the political world, I am very motivated, confident, and want to do my very best for Maine to ensure that constituents feel heard in Augusta. I am a fresh face and ready to give Topsham the new perspective and action that it needs to be better represented in Augusta.
  • Protection of The Constitution and Bill of Rights
  • Reducing government size
  • Personal, religious and medical freedoms
It is imperative that The Constitution and Bill of Rights be upheld by our State government. All citizens reserve the right to live their lives as they see fit, within the parameters of The Constitution and Bill of Rights, and feel that they can do so without the government ruling with an iron fist. I am highly passionate about the preservation of our rights as a State and a Nation and will do everything in my power to ensure that those rights granted to us by The Constitution and Bill of Rights remain intact and untouched. Additionally, I am equally passionate about the reduction of our government regarding spending and size. Our forefathers' intentions to keep the government in the United States small and manageable have gone by the wayside and I fully intend to restore their original wishes. Lastly, personal, religious, and medical freedoms are very important to me. Every individual reserves the sovereign right to govern their body how they see fit without interjection from the government. Just as every individual reserves the right to exercise their religious freedoms as they see fit within the parameters of The Constitution and Bill of Rights.
My parents. They're level-headed, positive, and accomplished individuals that I highly admire and aim to emulate throughout my lifetime.
I live my life, which includes any political philosophy, by the book, The Secret. It truly is an amazing thing to be able to be so conscious about your thoughts. It has shaped me as an individual and given me the tools to realize the power of our minds, thoughts, and actions.
Honesty, genuine character, active listener, motivated, balanced, approachable, invested
I am motivated, intuitive, perceptive, creative, outgoing, approachable, realistic, positive, hard-working, empathetic
That they realize just how impactful their voting record is not just for the present but the future of Maine.
9/11 - I recall sitting in my 8th-grade History class watching the television as history unfolded.
I worked for 10 years in retail pharmacy beginning at the end of high school, through college and post-college.
As previously mentioned, The Secret. I am intrigued with the human mind and how we can use it to our advantage on a daily basis to create specific outcomes.
The most obvious and perhaps the most important difference would be who is physically represented by each Representative and Senator. My view of the role a Representative is that he/she is more tightly engrained within their community, therefore able to provide a much more focused perspective on their constituents. A senator, having a much larger constituent and geographic base, is likely to have more of a 5,000-foot view of their district which may result in a more impersonal or untouchable feeling from constituents.
Not necessarily. I believe previous experience can sometimes taint the process and it is important to bring fresh faces into the mix that will provide a new perspective and motivation to what can be a very cumbersome role.
Budget. Budget. Budget. The reduction or the budget is of utmost importance.
Symbiotic. We must work together and put aside party lines if we want to ensure our State launches into the future in a positive way that encourages more people to want to live and work here.
Absolutely. Working within the Legislature is no different than working for a private company. You must learn to grow and maintain positive, impactful relationships with fellow Legislators who want to serve and hold Maine's best interest at the highest regard.
I favor the Maine State Legislature remaining in charge of redistricting.
I would be interested in the public health or technology and infrastructure committee.
Rep. Heidi Sampson, Rep. Justin Fecteau, Rep. Kathleen Dillingham, Sen. Robert Foley, Sen. Matthew Pouliot
I am interested in State level politics and would not likely be interested in anything on the national level.
