I'm Toni Mua born & raised, in Michigan's newly re-drawn 10th State House District, to an immigrant mother. Having a disabled older brother, I was taught the value of being an ally at the age of 5. Volunteering with my grandparents was the highlight of my childhood & continues till today. After completing education in the Detroit Public Schools system, I went on to earning a Communications degree. After college covid swiftly approached and I went on to become a crisis management specialist working with several municipalities. Now i'm running for office in the newly re-drawn district 10 to restore a sense of community trust, ensure all Michiganders have access to quality & affordable healthcare, & build viable solutions to our infrastructure that will greatly advance not just district 10 residents but all Michigan Residents. Times are changing & we need representatives who will fight for the people. Let's move Michigan forward with Mua.
  • I will work tirelessly to build safer communities, ensure a fairer criminal justice system, amend Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act to protect LGBTQ+ Michiganders from employment, housing, and other forms of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, defend the constitutional right of every Michigander.
  • With the recent overturn of Roe v. Wade, I'm heated & cannot fathom how our government believes they can legislate women's bodies! I have and will continue to fight for & protect access to safe, legal abortion and reproductive rights. In 2019 I had the pleasure of joining Planned Parenthood in our Nation's capitol to lobby for PP to remain in Title X. Although our efforts that year didn't work, the next year PP was reinstated. Once elected I will work passionately to repeal Michigan’s 1931 “snap-back” abortion ban, which would criminalize any Michigander aiding or performing an abortion.
  • Our infrastructure needs serious investment! Being born & raised in the district, I know firsthand how our water infrastructure has held against climate and flooding.Just last year my family, friends, & community members by serious flooding! Too many times we've been impacted by floods over the years, once elected I will fight to create more solutions that mitigate flooding.
Democracy & rights! I say this because several minority communities are facing attacks in state legislature! These attacks aren’t only affecting the LGBT+ community but women, people of color, Arabs, Muslims, immigrants, low income, & many more. These are the communities several of my friends come from, & I will fight for the rights of those who I love.
