Tonianne J. Bongiovanni is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She was appointed effective April 14, 2003.[1][2]

Biography

Education

Judge Bongiovanni earned a B.S. degree from New Jersey City University[3] and then a law degree from Seton Hall University, School of Law in 1988.[2]

Career

Judge Bongiovanni began her career in 1985 as an investigator for the New Jersey Federal Public Defender’s Office. She became an assistant federal public defender in 1988 and a first assistant federal public defender in 1997. She was then appointed to the U.S. District Court in 2003. She has also taught at the Seton Hall University School of Law as an adjunct faculty member since 1998.[2][3]
