Family Physician, 33 year military career, San Diego County First Responder, UCSD Assistant Professor, married Melanie Cruz, raised 4 boys in Poway, long time Poway youth coach & Boy Scout leader, involved in Poway American Legion, VFW, FRA, very slow ultra runner, cyclist, & swimmer
  • Make Poway more affordable for families / Stop Taxes and Fee Hikes: Oppose taxes and fees at every level, including the crazy incomebased utility fee scam. Too many residences are losing their property insurance coverage, I’ll fight to make sure every resident can stay in their home
  • IMPROVE quality of life for Poway families and neighborhoods / Combat Crime & Homelessness (SANDAG 2023 Crime Summary): : Support the police and give them the tools to enforce the law.

People suffering from homelessness do not belong in camps by our homes, schools, churches, or playgrounds. I will work to ensure those needing assistance have access to the programs

available. I’ll propose an ordinance banning sexually violent predators from living in Poway.
  • HOLD POLITICIANS ACCOUNTABLE/ Support Poway TERM LIMITS: Too often politicians are only looking out for themselves or their next office. Voters should have the right to set term limits on elected officials, I’ll fight to get term limits on the ballot. I will oppose any increase to Councilmember pay and fight to ban gifts from developers and special interests.
Make Poway more affordable: our Mayor and City Council take part of their SALARY out of our water rates. This is going to end when I'm elected. And I will lower your water rates over next 24 months.

We will also pass Term Limits initiative and form Planning Commission to regulate all future Poway development (our current Mayor and City Council take campaign donations from McNamara and other developers, then vote 5-0 or 4-1 in favor of ALL developments, battery plants, 100,000 square foot corporate fitness centers in Poway Open Space, etc.).

We also form a Traffic Safety Commission consisting of POWAY RESIDENTS: right now it consists of Poway city employees who do NOT live in the City of Poway and have no vested interest in Poway.
HONESTY: I will never take money from DEVELOPERS and then vote YES on their development, battery plant, corporate fitness center, or any other commercial entity.
