I am running for SC House District 25 because I have a vision for change for our community. I believe that civic engagement begins with visionary leadership that respects all people today and is willing to resolve our problems together. We need better roads to travel safely through our state. We need lower energy costs to withstand the high costs of inflation. We also need a more equitable society where our ex felons have real opportunities to participate as full citizens in our society. The political divisions within our state and country are real. I am running as an independent because I have experience with working with Republicans and Democrats to bring a greater good to our community. I need your vote on November 8, 2022. Elect Tony Boyce for SC House District 25.
1.Respecting Consumer Interests: I believe that public utilities must be decentralized which gives the consumers the choice of selecting their utility providers. According to Statista, SC has the highest monthly electricity costs in the nation at $144.73 per month. State government must pass legislation that favors consumer choice above corporate interests.

2. Resolving Our Road Conditions: I believe that safe roads are a public good and must be provided by our state government to protect passengers at all costs. Unsafe and damaged roads lead to more accidents and unsafe driving conditions. Our state government must pass legislation that prioritizes safe roads as a public good above special interests groups.

3. Responsible Leadership Now: I believe that partisan politics is crippling our state government. I believe that our state elections must remove primary elections and allow the parties to select a candidate to represent the party in the General Election. Candidates can qualify themselves for party candidacy by gathering petitions. Once the petitions are certified by State Elections Commision, the voters can then decide who they want to represent them in the General Election. This will improve the accountability of the candidates and the responsibility of the candidate to our voters.
Dr. Samuel B. Neely (retired pastor). Dr. Neely is a true servant leader to his family and to the Church. He demonstrates humility, compassion, and attention to detail. He is an adequate communicator and visionary . He knows how to lead people to work together for a common good.
Accountability to the voters.

Accessibility to the Voters.

Acknowledgement of weaknesses and failures.
Visionary Leader

Respectable of others
Relatable

Good Sense of Humor
The core responsibility to the voters is to pass legislation that will meet the needs and requests of the voters. The representative must represent the interests of the voters of their district.
I want my children and family to know that I was not afraid to do what was necessary to help others achieve. I love helping people reach their goals as we work together to reach one common goal.
Assassination attempt of President Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981. (5 years old)
Front Desk Agent/Front Office Manager-Hampton Inn (6 years)
Hoops (Walter Dean Myers)- I am a devoted basketball fan. It is a story of a young basketball player who overcame poverty and racism and became a leader on and off the court.
Caring for my aging father while grieving the loss of my mother.
The governor needs the state legislators to get a closer insight of the political will of the voters. The governor must act according to the greater good of the citizens of the state.
1. Lowering monthly energy/utility costs.

2. Providing safer and accessible roads.

3. Reducing emphasis on partisan politics and raising the focus on the will of the people.
A unicameral system can limit the long focus on the political interests of a district. A house legislator presents the short term interests of the electorate (2 years), a senate member reflects the long term interests of the electorate (4 years). I think a dual house system provides a balanced opportunity to know the political will of the electorate on a short term and long term basis.
Previous experience is not limited to elected experience. I have political experience by serving on several boards and civic organizations. I have been a public servant through the church for over 20 years.
I believe it is extremely beneficial to build relationships with other legislators. That is why I am running as an independent. I believe that partisan politics often limits the focus on achieving the greater good for the people. We all need to work together to give the voters what they need for a better society.
I favor a process that allows communities of interest to decide where the district boundaries are drawn. This method prevents gerrymandering and split member districts. The voters should decide what the political districts look like based on census data and not solely the elected officials.
I am dedicating this campaign to my late mother Mrs. Alice Marie Boyce. She passed away on October 30, 2022 due to a pulmonary embolism. She served our community in Laurens, SC for over 30 years as a member of the NAACP, League of Women Voters, and a poll manager with election commission. I dedicate my commitment to public service and servant leadership to her spirit and influence. I know that she is still praying for me and my family.
There was salesman who got lost in Kentucky. He stopped at a house and saw a little boy playing on a swing. He asked the boy, "How far is it to Lexington?" The boy said, "I don't know." He then asked, "How far is it to Louisville?" The boy again said, "I don't know." He then said how far is it to Ft. Campbell? The boy for a third time said, "I don't know." The salesmen then got angry and said, "Well, what do you know boy?" The boy looked around his yard, looked backed at his house and saw his mother cooking dinner, he then looked backed at the salesman and said, "I don't know, but I know that I'm not lost!"
Compromise is necessary for policy making. Compromise is ideal when all registered voters participate consistently in local, state, and federal elections.
