Campaign themes

2014

Dolz highlighted the following issues on his campaign website:

PARENT ALERT – “COMMON CORE” STANDARD UNDERMINES LOCAL CONTROL OF EDUCATION

The School board is about to purchase new books that are in compliance with the “Common Core” standard. This is a federal/state standard that undermines local control of education and parental rights over our children’s education. Add your name to the mailing list and you will be invited to a forum being planned to explore the impact of this state and federal government current power grab over local control of education – the so called “Common Core” standard.

RIGHT TO VOTE ON A NEW HIGH SCHOOL

Tony supports using $3,800,000 from a land sale to balance the budget and prevent more education spending cuts. Tony supports giving the public the right to vote for or against a high school construction bond in 2014. His plan will save the jobs of 35 teachers. The incumbents oppose his plan.

BIAS
The incumbents have endorsed liberal Democrat Julia Brownley for Congress. The superintendent endorsed liberal Democrat Steve Bennett for Congress in the primary. There is a liberal bias on the school board. Tony’s election will bring balance to the school board.

PROTECT OUR CHILDREN
The incumbents voted 4-1 for a book that describes the rape, sodomy and penetration of a 12 year old boy by a pedophile. Tony will protect the innocence of our children and select a better book to read. Tony will put more parents on the textbook selection committee. Tony Dolz has children in our public schools. The incumbents do not.

REPAIR “PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT” DEFICIENCY
The California Department of Education has put our school district in “program improvement” for the second year because of a lack of adequate yearly progress. The reputation of our schools affects the local economy and real estate prices. Tony will improve our public schools by encouraging more parent participation.

HOME SCHOOL, PRIVATE SCHOOL, CHARTER SCHOOL PARENT STUDY SESSION
Why are so many parents sending their children to home, private and charter schools? Tony proposes a study session to find out why. From the results, we then improve the public schools to satisfy all the parents in our community.

TONY DOLZ
A Voice for Parents and Taxpayers, including Home, Private and Charter School Students.

Tony Will Improve Our Schools. Tony is Good for Parents, Taxpayers, the Local Economy and Real Estate Values.[5]
