The city of San Francisco, California held board of supervisors elections on November 4, 2014. In District 10, incumbent Malia Cohen defeated Ed Donaldson, Tony Kelly, Shawn M. Richard and Marlene Tran in the general election.[1][2]

Campaign themes

2014

On his campaign website, Kelly highlighted the following issues:[3]

Public safety

  • Excerpt: "If we look at homicide statistics for the Bayview police precinct, it’s clear that things haven’t gotten any better in the past four years. We can’t wait any longer to stop the violence. District 10 has the highest rates of unemployment, violent crime, and incarceration in the City. This tragic cycle is bigger than any one person, but if any one person must address it, it’s the District 10 Supervisor. And that’s not happening right now."

Affordable housing

  • Excerpt: "There is no question that San Francisco has to do a better job building affordable housing. Progress starts with a Board of Supervisors who are independent from luxury condo developers — that’s why I am not seeking or accepting any contributions from developers, big real estate interests, or Ellis Act evictors to my Board of Supervisors campaign."
