Lee's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[5]
“ | ALEC
If there is one issue/item/topic that I hope I can highlight/bring attention to/publicize, with Wisconsin voters throughout my campaign, it's the strong hold ALEC has within WI politics. This is one of the main reasons why I am running for office. I am very much against ALEC's influence on WI politics and I believe that if an elected official has a history/connection to ALEC, than he/she is not truly representing the PEOPLE of Wisconsin, let alone the 4th district. ALEC's influence is just too scary to ignore. Money in politics I'll say it all day long---GET IT OUT. I am against the BIG money in politics. The WI state legislature cannot fix the problem, but we could look into what Montana has done with their Disclose Act. What we don't do is stay silent and do nothing. Since Republicans removed the public financing of political candidates, we could also look into what Maine has done with their Clean Elections Act . We need to be open minded and creative to bring WI politics back to the people again. Nothing is going to change with Rep. Steffen representing you, in the 4th District. I denounce any dark money being spent on MY behalf and I hope Rep. Steffen would say the same, as well. Funding for K-12 public education Funding K-12 public schools has always been a high priority in WI-- until Gov. Walker and the Republicans gained control of Madison. Under the Walker administration, private schools have flourished with financially at the expense of public school funding. We need to get back to the strong investment that we once had w/in our K-12 public schools. If the tough decision had to be made about where the budget dollars would go, public versus private/charter/vouchers--I would choose public.[6] |
