Tony Payton, Jr.
Tony Payton, Jr. is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 179 from 2007-2013.
Payton attended the Community College of Philadelphia. His professional experience includes his work as Deputy Campaign Manager for Philadelphia District Attorney Candidate Seth Williams and his work as a Housing Counselor for United Communities.

Incumbent Payton was removed from the ballot on March 22 after a petition challenge. He did not seek re-election as a write-in, leaving James Clay to run unopposed for the seat. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1] [2][3]
2010
Payton won re-election to the 179th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition and defeated Republican Matthew Franchetti in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Payton won re-election to the 179th District seat of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He received 18,547 votes, defeating Republican William Kennedy (2,080).[5]
