Campaign themes

2016

Quillen's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]

Kentucky’s Pension Problem

  • Excerpt: "We must make the necessary changes and reforms to get our state on a strong, financial path for the future. We didn’t get in this problem overnight so it will take a focused, long-term commitment to solve this crisis."

Promote Job Creation for Northeast KY

  • Excerpt: "While many of our citizens struggle to make ends meet, we cannot help but feel betrayed by the very people we elected to protect us. I promise to fight against job-crushing policies and work to provide our citizens a more prosperous future."

Provide Open & Honest Government

  • Excerpt: "As your representative, I promise to fight against government corruption by promoting open and honest leadership. You have a right to know how your tax dollars are being spent."

Lead the Fight on the War against Coal

  • Excerpt: "Unlike other resources, coal provides many jobs and is a stable source of America-made energy. When coal takes a hit in Kentucky, our communities take a hit. We need to send the message to federal instigators that they cannot regulate our industry out of business."

Fight Government Overreach

  • Excerpt: "I understand how dangerous it is to allow the federal government to take control of our major industries, including Kentucky agriculture. I plan to protect our families from federal overreach."
