Tonya D. McDaniel elected county commissioner District A in 2018. Winston-Salem native from a military family. Graduate of WSSU in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Public Administration, and NCCU with a Masters in Public Administration.

Employed with United Health Centers as the Public Affairs and Relations Officer, which operates the Federally Qualified Health Center.

McDaniel has three children and three grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys Zumba and playing Scrabble.
