A Town of Eagle Marijuana Occupation Tax, Question 2F ballot question was on the November 5, 2013, election ballot for voters in the town of Eagle in Eagle County, Colorado. It was approved.
This measure authorized an occupation tax on recreational marijuana, which was legalized by Amendment 64 in 2012. This tax would be on top of any statewide excise or sales tax on recreational marijuana. The Question 2F tax authorized a revenue of $50,000 per year for the first year and whatever amount was collected through a tax of up to $5 per recreational marijuana transaction after that.[1]

Text of measure

Shall the town of eagle's taxes be increased by $50,000.00 annually (first full fiscal year increase) and by whatever amounts are raised annually thereafter through the levy of an occupation tax up to $5.00 for each sales transaction by any retail marijuana store, any retail marijuana cultivation facility and any retail marijuana product manufacturing facility within the town of eagle, effective january 1, 2014; and shall all revenues derived from such occupation tax be collected and spent, as a voter approved revenue change, notwithstanding any revenue or expenditure limitations contained in article x, section 20, of the colorado constitution, article 1 of title 29, colorado revised statutes or any other law?[1][2] |

- Vail Daily: The Vail Daily editorial board wrote: "On the subject of pay to play, the town of Eagle is asking voters to impose a “transaction fee” of up to $5 per retail sale. The amount of the fee depends on the amount of pot purchased. Again, if we’re going to have legal, weed, let’s at least tax it enough to pay for regulation and enforcement.[3]"
