A Town of Portola Valley Appropriations for Open Space, Measure R ballot question was on the November 3, 2009 ballot for voters in the Town of Portola Valley in San Mateo County, where it was approved.
Measure R authorized a change in the Town of Portola Valley's appropriations limit for each of the four fiscal years starting on July 1, 2010 by the amount of money that would/will be raised in those years by the 2% utility user’s tax that funds open-space projects.

| Measure R: "Only if Town of Portola Valley Proposition Q adjusting the Town’s Appropriation limit passes shall the Town additionally adjust the appropriations limit each fiscal year commencing July 1, 2010 by the amount of money collected from imposition of the 2% Utility Users Tax (for open space purposes only) during the time of its levy and collection, provided authorization to adjust the appropriations limit shall not exceed four years from the end of Fiscal Year 2009-2010?"[1] |
