An effort to recall Township Supervisor Dave Udy, Trustee Mary Jo Oppy, and Trustee Terry Newton did not go to a vote in Gerrish Township, Michigan.[1]

The recall campaign also included Treasurer Leasa Tulgetske, who resigned from the board.[1]

Petitions in a second recall effort against Udy, Oppy, and Newton were rejected by county officials.[1][2]

Recall supporters

Ethan Brand filed an initial recall petition against Udy, Tulgetske, Oppy, and Newton on April 18, 2022. The petition read, "Voted on 4/13/21 in favor of a sewer project estimated at $130,000,000 without seeking prior support from a majority of the township constituents in the proposed sewer assessment district.”[1]

Resident Ric Federau filed a second petition against Udy, Oppy, and Newton on October 5, 2022. The second recall petition read, "On June 14, 2022, ... voted in favor of resolution 2022-06-14-01 which initiated a special assesment district for purpos of funding $79,560.00 Higgins Lake sewer project. (The Gerrish portion of a $115,000.000 project.)"[1]
