Tracey A. Bannister is a judge for the 4th Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. She assumed office on November 1, 2019. Her current term ends on December 31, 2027.

Bannister (Democratic Party, Republican Party, Conservative Party, Working Families Party) ran for re-election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 8th Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Biography

Education

Bannister received her B.A. degree from Rutgers University in 1981 and her J.D. degree from DePaul University / UB Law in 1984.[1][2]

Career

Bannister began her career in 1984 as a trial attorney. She then became a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Jerome Gorski in 1989. She worked under this judge in the Supreme Court and Appellate Division (4th Dept.) until 2008. She was also appointed an acting village justice on the Kenmore Village Court in 2006. She was elected to the Supreme Court in 2008.[1][3]
