Transportation Committee, Washington House of Representatives
The Transportation Committee is a standing committee of the Washington House of Representatives.
Per Rule 24 of the House Rules, committee members of the House of Representatives are selected by the caucus of each party.[1] The chairs of the committees are selected by the majority party caucus.[1] Standing committees of the House have the power to issue commissions for the examination of witnesses, the power to administer oaths, and the powers of subpoena.[2] The debate by any standing committee on a measure is open to the public.[3]

Function
The Transportation Committee considers topics including, but not limited to:
| “ | the transportation budget; revenue sources for transportation funding; and issues relating to transportation policy and transportation agencies, including the Department of Transportation and the Washington State Patrol.[4][5] | ” |
