Shetler ran for election to the Eighth Judicial District Court.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 36.6 percent of the vote. He competed against incumbent Cheryl Moss.

Shetler received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in 1989 and his J.D. degree from the Willamette University College of Law in 1992.[2]
