Treg Taylor
Treg Taylor (Republican Party) is running for election for Governor of Alaska. He declared candidacy for the 2026 election.[source]
Taylor (Republican Party) was the Attorney General of Alaska. He assumed office on May 11, 2021. He left office on August 29, 2025.
Taylor resigned as Attorney General of Alaska on August 29, 2025.[1]
Taylor was appointed as acting attorney general by Gov. Mike Dunleavy (R) on January 29, 2021, following the resignation of Ed Sniffen.[2] Taylor was a 2016 nonpartisan candidate for District 6, Seat J of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly in Alaska. He was defeated in the general election that took place on April 5, 2016.
Biography
Taylor received a bachelor's degree in political science and a J.D. from Brigham Young University. His career experience includes working as deputy attorney general in charge of the civil division at the Alaska Department of Law.[3]
