I grew up in Dickinson, North Dakota where I first learned the value of service and community. My time in rural ND taught me invaluable lessons centered around hard work, integrity, practicality, and loyalty to family and neighbors. I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a double major in Political Science and Public Administration. During my time there, I represented students through the Associated Student Government and served as Director of Public Relations for the North Dakota Student Association. As a marketing consultant with Townsquare Media, I work directly with local businesses and organizations every day. Through that work - and my involvement with the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce and as a CAP Mentor with Thrive - I’ve seen firsthand the challenges that families and businesses face, along with the opportunities we can pursue together.
  • Bozeman residents need their voice back. I hear every day when engaging with constituents how they don't feel heard, considered, or represented by current city leaders. It is my commitment to you to increase transparency and accountability through the use of a public polling system, as well as by bringing back to the decision making table Citizen Advisory Boards.
  • It's my personal belief that local government's primary and most critical responsibility is public safety. I will fight tooth and nail to ensure that Bozeman residents are safe by providing necessary funding to Police/Fire/EMS, as well as water and street departments, via the use of the general fund and not additional bonds or taxes.
  • Bozeman is growing, that's inevitable. What the city can influence is what that growth looks like. I will look to preserve Bozeman's beautiful character while simultaneously increasing Housing Affordability via the use of Land-Use/Zoning, financial, and regulatory tools.
I'm most passionate about facilitating public safety and beneficial economic conditions while doing so with the concerns of the community in mind to increase transparency and accountability. To me, these things are simply rooted in common sense.
Man... I look up to so many people. I would say number one will always be my dad, though. He's set a clear example through his actions for me my whole life by working hard and, most importantly, showing unconditional and ever-growing love to my mom. To me, those are the most impactful thing that I could have experienced growing up and they both continue to guide how I act every day.
First and foremost, the ability to listen. And not just listen to hear, but listen to understand. Any leader should have a natural ability to read the room. From there, I think it takes an unconditional commitment to integrity and honesty to guide that leader's decision making process.
To uphold the U.S. Constitution, the Montana State Constitution, the Bozeman City Charter, and to represent the majority of Bozeman residents whom you are directly elected by.
A legacy in which the people whose lives I've touched know for sure and for certain that I cared deeply about them.
The first major historical event that I remember was 9/11. I was about 5 years old at the time and I remember watching the news that evening with my parents.
My very first job was as a host at my family friend's Mexican restaurant. I then moved to waiting tables. I total, I worked there on and off from the ages of roughly 14-22 years old.
Of course it's beneficial. But I think that what's more beneficial, and ultimately imperative, are those leadership qualities that I mentioned before.
