2014

Caldwell's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

Taxes

  • Excerpt: "We have a spending problem. It’s time to cut up the proverbial credit cards and cut governmental spending and waste. If we keep giving bureaucrats blank checks they will continue to burden our children with debt that is owed to China. We all understand that it takes money to build roads, schools, and keep our communities safe, but we have to draw the line."

Education

  • Excerpt: "[Teachers] need their wages brought up to regional average at the minimum, and funding to encourage them to seek continued refinement of their craft, and more technological resources to better engage their students."

Second Amendment

  • Excerpt: "Trey is a ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment and believes that all law abiding citizens have the RIGHT to own a fire arm if they so chose. He will fight tooth and nail to protect those rights from any and all that try to infringe upon them."

Crime

  • Excerpt: "We must seek out and eliminate the gangs and drugs in our community and give local, county, and state law enforcement all means at their disposal to eradicate this scourge."

Agriculture

  • Excerpt: "[Politicians] have forgotten SW Oklahoma and our farmers and ranchers who have been the foundation of our state and what it means to be an “Oklahoman” the last 106 years. Trey is committed to preserving this for the next 106 years too."

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Oklahoma

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
