I am a Christian, a former football and baseball coach and still a classroom teacher. Native of the Fort Worth, Texas area and lifelong Texan. Happily married for 20 years this summer to my best friend Manda. Avid reader, and activist for issues affecting human liberty. I believe that government should operate according to the principle of "Love thy neighbor".
  • The out of control national debt is a clear and present danger. The biggest threat to our national security.
  • The so-called "War on Drugs" is a failure and is the biggest contributor to the US having the world's highest incarceration rate. Time to end it.
  • A strong national defense doesn't have to mean an aggressive foreign policy. Interventionism is wrong and creates enemies.
Shrinking government

Reducing public debt
Decriminalizing cannabis
Powerful yet peaceful foreign policy
Abolishing human abortion
Protecting rights of responsible gun owners
Free trade
Immigration policies that both love and protect

Self imposed term limits

First, and foremost I look up to Jesus. His example is the one I strive for every day and the one that in the end matters the most. I also look up to my grandfather, Bob Holcomb. He was a mighty man of God whose integrity and care for people I will always strive for. Politically, the example I value the most is Dr. Ron Paul. A gentleman, fellow Christian and Texan and the man who taught me to love liberty.
The shooting of president Reagan when I was in the fifth grade. I was 10 or 11.
I worked at Sonic for about two years while I was in high school. It was a minimum wage job, but it taught me hard work and the value of an earned dollar.
Mere Christianity by CS Lewis because it explains the tenets of my faith and what they mean in the modern world better than any I've read.
Very few at present. It has been corrupted by partisan special interests and the desire for individual power and recognition.

Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Justin Amash of Michigan are members I will seek out to caucus with when I'm elected.
Only in the regard that they fully understand their oath of office and are capable of fulfilling it.
Finding creative and compassionate ways to reduce our national debt.
I believe it is, and I believe one term should be enough. I will not seek re-election and will be an example of self imposed term limits.
I plan to self impose a one term limit on myself.
Past - Dr. Ron Paul of Texas.

Present - Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Justin Amash of Michigan
