The Tri-State Sanitation Compact is an interstate compact among Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. The compact also has congressional consent. It created a commission that would manage pollution in the major bodies of water in the tri-state area, while also working to reduce other forms of pollution.[1]

The legislature of each member state passes the laws with certain modifications, but the core of the legislation remains the same.
