DiLeo provided the following statement on her campaign website:

ISSUES IN EDUCATION

All children are special and no two children have the exact same learning style or skills. Children have a unique mixture of skills and needs that affect the way they learn. Some children are visual learners, others are hands-on learners and all too many face obstacles; whether physical, emotional, or cultural, which can impede their ability to learn.

All children deserve the opportunity to succeed by learning in a way that makes the most of their strengths and helps them overcome any obstacles. Empowering teachers with the skills, resources and opportunities that cultivate meeting every child's need is Trilese's highest priority.

Accountable

The DVUSD Governing Board has a tremendously large responsibility in our community. In setting policies for the district, the Board is responsible for ensuring these policies are positively impacting the performance of all schools in the district.

In addition, they oversee the utilization of a significant budget each year. Trilese is a strong critical thinker and knows how to think outside of the box when examining budgets. Trilese will advocate that the money our district receives is prioritized in the most effective way possible.

"As a member of the board I am committed to ensuring that all efforts of the district benefit the quality of education our children receive"

Common Core

Establishing standards is a common practice in all areas of life and Arizona has had a set of standards in education for many years. The set of standards identified in Common Core, as written, are simply benchmarks and merely provide a guideline for teachers to work towards as they develop the curriculum for their classrooms.

As a Governing Board member, Trilese believes the implementation of these standards and how they are presented as curriculum in the classroom is what matters most. The curriculum must be in line with our families' and communities' values. Providing appropriate oversight and ensuring teachers have the necessary resources to positively prepare our children is how we successfully prepare our children for the future.

Equal

Being a child is increasingly difficult generation after generation. The challenges our children and educators face today are more complex than they have ever been. Knowing this, it is our responsibility as a community to ensure that all children have an equal chance to succeed.

Removing obstacles for second language learners, children with learning disabilities or other challenges is Trilese's top priority. No matter the challenge, no matter the obstacle or difficulty of the issue, Trilese promises to always have a solution focused approach. Failing to provide opportunities for any child is unacceptable.

Innovative

Today's workforce is different from that of our parents. Unlike ever before, our children are facing employment realities that require a deeply developed set of skills and content knowledge. While the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic are still very important to the success of a child, we are facing a society where we need to expand the knowledge of our children.

Science, math and technology are the future of career opportunities for our children and we need to prepare them for these fields of work. As a member of the school board, Trilese will to find ways to strengthen the curriculum of science, math, and technology.

Fiscal

DVUSD is responsible for more than $184 million each year. As a member of this board, it will be Trilese's priority to manage those funds, within the budget. Trilese is a fiscal conservative and has experience in identifying the most effective and efficient uses of money. Trilese believes strongly in maximizing the budget so that our students and educators are properly supported.[6]

She also provided the following statement to the Maricopa County Education Service Agency:

I am running for the DVUSD board because, I see we are on the verge of failing our children. Like many parents, I am concerned about the level of education in our schools for all our children and especially our children with special education needs.

I have devoted my life to serving our community and as a mother, I cannot consciously stand by and let our children and teachers get lost in the political tug-of-war.

I have one son, attending Desert Sky Middle School and was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. I was a student of DVUSD; attending Desert Winds, Constitution and Esperanza Elementary schools, Deer Valley Middle School and graduated from Barry Goldwater High school.

One year after high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where I served our county around the world. After being honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps, I returned to Phoenix and immediately began setting foot prints in Arizona's community.

While working full-time and raising my young son, I returned to school and earned my bachelor’s degree in Marketing and again in 2012, I completed my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Grand Canyon University.

I believe strongly in the value of education and in setting a positive example for all children to reach higher and to achieve their maximum potential.

I am a licensed Real Estate Broker and an Executive Director for a local nonprofit. Previously, I have worked for both the Greater Phoenix and Scottsdale Chambers of Commerce in roles ranging from education and workforce development to economic development.

I like to believe that I am a visionary, with a strong background in business management. While at the Scottsdale Chamber, I envisioned and started Phoenix's first regional young professionals’ organization; GET Phoenix. As a fiscal conservative, I recently completed 5 1/2 years as my Home Owner's Association President, where I diligently managed and scrutinized the association’s finances, improved the property values year after year and managed over $1 million in improvements, while simultaneously reducing the monthly dues of every home owner.

I have served on various community committees, including; the Arizona Association of Economic Development, Valley of the Sun United Way, Partners Advancing Student Success (PASS), Councilman Maddux's School-to-Work Initiative and Congressman Mitchell's Veterans' Advisory Committee. I am a graduate of Valle Del Sol's 2014 Hispanic Leadership Institute and have recently been appointed by Mayor Stanton and Councilwoman Williams to the Deer Valley Village Planning Committee.

As a member of the school board, I will advocate for our students by collaborating with our parents, teachers, administrators and state leaders to ensure our students' needs are the primary focus. I encourage everyone’s opinion and input, so that the best decisions can be made.

We need strong leaders who are willing to selflessly serve our community and model the highest standards!

Failing to provide educational opportunities for any child is unacceptable and I will ensure an equal, accountable and highly rigorous education for all children![7][6]
