Trinidad Acevedo
Trinidad Acevedo was a candidate for District 8 representative on the El Paso City Council in Texas. He was defeated in the special election on June 10, 2017.
Biography
At the time of his 2017 run for office, Acevedo was an educator.[1]

Robert Cormell and Cecilia Lizarraga defeated Gilbert Guillen, Adolfo Lopez, and Trinidad Acevedo in the special election for the District 8 seat on the El Paso City Council.[2]

In a NewsChannel9 candidate forum, Acevedo said he opposed building an arena in El Paso's Duranguito neighborhood. He said, "It's a very touchy situation and I believe there are other areas to put it. There's enough area downtown where they can put it." Acevedo expressed support for a proposed mixed-use development project on Shadow Mountain Drive in West El Paso, saying, "I see it as a wonderful opportunity for economic development in the area."[3]
