Trish K. Morikawa is a judge for the O`ahu First Circuit Court of Hawaii. Gov. David Ige (D) appointed her to the court on August 28, 2019, to replace Judge Colette Y. Garibaldi.[1]
Education
Morikawa received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Hawaiʻi William S. Richardson School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to her appointment, Morikawa served as a judge for the O`ahu First Circuit District Court of Hawaii from 2017 to 2019. Morikawa was an associate with the firm of Gallagher, Kane & Amai. She also served as a per diem judge of the District Family Court of the First Circuit. Her professional experience includes working as a county housing coordinator with the City and County of Honolulu Office of Housing and as a deputy prosecuting attorney with the City and County of Honolulu. She also served as a deputy attorney general.[2]
