Trish Nash owns a real estate company in Henderson and has been a business owner for 20 years. Trish graduated from Dominican University in River Forest, IL with a degree in International Business and Spanish.as well as studying in Madrid, Spain and residing there for 2 years. Trish has been a resident of Henderson for 22 years and has been deeply rooted in the community through various volunteer and leadership positions over the years. Trish is the past Chairman of the Board of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Executive Board which has given her a unique opportunity to listen to what is important to both small and large businesses in our community. I am honored to be an endorsed candidate by the Henderson Chamber of Commerce as well as the Board of Realtors comprised of 17,000 of my peers and colleagues.
  • Water is an important topic right now. As a community we need to continue to look at responsible ways of water conservation. As we continue to grow as a city I will work in tandem with our Mayor and city leaders to ensure we have sustainable growth.
  • Public safety is critical as the Henderson population grows. We are the 2nd safest city in our nation for a city our size and I want to ensure we continue to keep our city safe.
  • Education must be addressed as we are ranked one of the lowest in the nation. Although our schools in Henderson are ranked very high, the overall scores for CCSD as a whole are pathetic. We must take a very strong look at our school system and come up with viable solutions. The youth are our future leaders and we need to offer them an education that will allow them to excel and become their best.
Clark County School District (CCSD) has failed us greatly and I feel strongly that we need to fix what is broken and come up with answers as to how and why we are failing our children. Making our school district smaller into several districts is a solution that is being looked into now. I am in favor of this movement. Many families choose not to make Clark County their home due to our poor education system. We must find solutions and as a City Council member I will make education a priority.
My first job was shoveling snow in my neighborhood in a Chicago suburb at age 11.. My second job was a papergirl delivering the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago SunTimes when I was 12. I learned the importance of customer service and hard work at a very young age. I shoveled snow and delivered papers until I could get a real job at age 15. I then was a waitress at a coffee shop.
