Trish Ruiz
Trish Ruiz (Democratic Party) was a member of the New Mexico Public Education Commission, representing District 9. Ruiz assumed office in 2017. Ruiz left office on December 31, 2020.
Ruiz (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the New Mexico Public Education Commission to represent District 9. Ruiz lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Ruiz graduated from the University of the Southwest, where she also taught as an adjunct professor. At the time of the 2016 election, Ruiz worked as a counselor in an alternative learning center and served as the chair of the Lea County Democratic Party.[1][2]

New Mexico Public Education Commission (2017-2020)
Ruiz was elected to District 9 of the New Mexico Public Education Commission on November 8, 2016. No Republicans filed to run for the education commission, which made Ruiz the presumptive winner of the general election. She was sworn into office in January 2017.[3][4]
