Trish Zornio completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Zornio's responses.
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
As a scientist and educator, Zornio is running to bring the scientific expertise required to achieve a true 21st century society. Her vision includes a full transition to a renewable and sustainable economy, comprehensive universal healthcare, a robust public education for pre-K through 12th grade and beyond, investing in the next great scientific achievements (ranging from personalized medicine, artificial intelligence, nuclear fusion, a second quantum leap, human factor design and more), to focusing on quality of life by ending poverty in America and achieving a 32 hour full-time work week by 2050.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
In a time when there are no scientists on the U.S. Senate science committee, Zornio is most passionate about using information to solve our most complex issues, whether that is applied to tackling climate change, healthcare, immigration, data security or beyond.
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
Zornio often references many role models including Ruth Bader Ginsburg who has been particularly inspiring to her. A favorite quote is, “Fight for the change you wish to see but do it in a way that inspires others to join you.” -RBG
