Troy grew up in Altoona and has lived most of his life in eastern Polk County. As an entrepreneur, Troy is building his insurance and financial services business. He lives in Pleasant Hill with his wife, Melissa and their pack of boxers. The couple are proud parents of three adult children and grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters.
  • Iowa families and small businesses are hurting! We need to improve our economy by further cutting taxes, reforming our property tax system, and trimming regulations and the size of our government.
  • Iowa families and small businesses are being adversely affected by illegal immigration. Whether it’s causing lower wages and undercutting Iowa businesses, or the increase in crimes such as child and drug trafficking, more must be done to protect Iowans.
  • Our Federal Government is out of control, and the States need to take back their Constitutional power. We are a union of individual states and it’s time to reassert State sovereignty.
Being part of the financial services industry, there are plenty of areas of concern there. In addition, I am a champion for individual freedom. Whether it be religious freedom, or medical freedom, I want Iowans to have a say, without the government’s involvement.
Ultimately, I want to be like Christ! As a leader, King David. He showed strength and wisdom, but was a servant leader.
A strong leader with common sense, care and compassion.
I am caring and compassionate, but also strong-willed and determined.
To be a servant and representative of all the people in my district.
I want to make my State a better place for all Iowans. Iowa is a great place to live, raise a family and grow a business. But I want to make it even better and stronger.
I babysat and pet sat from the time I was around 11. My first “real” job was working at Hy-Vee for 4-5 months when I was 14 or 15.
The Bible, as it is the Word of God. Also any Vince Flynn or Brad Thor book.
Ideally they work well together to make the state better and stronger for the people they serve.
Absolutely! It’s important to build a stronger government together. Sometimes that even means working with the opposition for what is best for the people.
No. I plan to serve my district in the Iowa House, and have no additional political career intentions.
Yes. Legislators are the voice and representatives of the people.
We need to secure our elections and voter rolls. I propose some new voter integrity standards to protect every vote and voter…from the top of the ballot to the bottom.
The people are the ultimate final say. The government should have an open book to the people and full transparency and accountability to them!
For some things I think it would be good, for others I feel it would be a bad idea.
