McCoy submitted the following statement to the Clark County voters' pamphlet:[1]
“ | Hello. My name is Troy McCoy and I am running for BGSD's District 3 School Board position. I am a father of two children and husband to a teacher. Both of my children attended all of their K-12 educational years in the Battle Ground School District. Professionally, I have a background in chemical engineering, and have been a small business owner in Battle Ground for over 10 years. With the problem solving aspects of my engineering background as well as the budget expertise I have developed as a small business owner, I can bring a unique perspective to the school board.
I feel that the school board's role is to ensure our children are provided with the resources to be able to compete in the ever-changing workplace; whether that is preparing them for college or a trade, in the most cost-efficient manner possible. We have a monumental task ahead, and I look forward to opening a dialogue with our community on how best to accomplish this. If you honor me with your vote, I look forward to serving you on the board.[4] |
