Truman Dougharty was a judge for the Newton County Court in Newton County, Texas. He served as a judge for the court from 1998 until his retirement from the bench in December 2014.[1][2][3] He returned to the bench after the May 2015 death of Ronnie W. Boyett and served until his resignation on May 31, 2016.[4]

Dougharty was re-elected to the Newton County Court. He won the Democratic primary and was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election.[5]
