Tucker J. Senter (b. March 22, 2004 in Colfax, Washington) is currently a candidate for Whitman County Commissioner. Senter attended Colfax High School, where he was an honors student, participated in FFA events, and ran track his senior year. Currently he attends Washington State University where he studies Social Studies and Business Administration. Senter previously had worked for Washington State University as the Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs for the Associated Students of Washington State University (c. 2024-2025). In that role, Senter worked on state legislation that included; protections for victims of sexual assault, protecting the Washington College Grant, expanding basic needs support, protecting student free speech, and refunding the WSU Native American Scholarship. Senter has also worked on issues relating to veterans and VA benefits. He currently lives in Palouse, Washington.
  • Strengthening our small business buy in: Senter believes that we need to strengthen the ties small businesses have to the community. He will do this by meeting with business owners to see what support they need, organizing community events, and promoting opportunities in the county.
  • Fighting against wind farms: One of the core tenants of good business is providing a service that helps a community. Given that the United States has had an energy surplus since 2019, Senter believes that wind fames don't provide a benefit to our community. He will fight to insure wind farms don't plague the ground tradition has been planted in.
  • Reducing crime and poverty: Whitman County has consistently had one of the highest, if not the highest, rates of poverty in Washington. This is due to the fact they are very little resources for the impoverished in Whitman County, as well as dwindling opportunities for success. As your county commissioner Senter will work to gain a budget surplus in order to better fund services for mental health, addiction, and the impoverished, along with programs to reduce crime.
Senter is passionate about supporting programs that aim to help those in poverty, battling mental health, and addiction. Once we support these programs, Senter hopes that we will see a reduction in poverty and crime across Whitman County. Tucker Senter will support these programs by cutting county spending in order to free up enough capital to support rehab programs, phycological programs, and crime rehabilitation.
I look up to Thomas Jefferson, our third U.S. President. Jefferson over saw the rebuilding of our nations military, financial uncertainty, our first over seas war, and in many ways set the standard for U.S. politicians at large. He brought intelligence, morals, and commonsense to politics. Jefferson held opinions that were not popular for his time, such as wanting to outlaw slavery and end the trade of people.
Profiles in Courage, written by then senator John F. Kennedy, is a good reflection of my political philosophy. This book goes through a history of powerful U.S. senators. Giving us the ability to learn from past successes and failures. When you read this book, you will find that it's lessons relate to all levels of government, including our county.
One of the core tenants of a good leader is someone who doesn't aim to support personal views, but the views of those they represent. As an elected hopeful, I want to work for you. This means not only sharing your struggles and opinions, but putting together a comprehensive plan to resolve those issues. All while caring out vast financial reforms across the county.

A good leader is someone who doesn't play political games. To often people ascend to higher office as a way to get the next top job. So, they do things that aren't honest, go against personal morals, and harm those they represent. I don't play political games. We are all citizens that love this county, so lets get to work.
One of the top core responsibilities of someone in this office, is caring out high level reforms. Firstly, is one of budgetary origin. We need to free up capital so we can invest in building up our business sector, support the rehabilitation of the addicted and criminally convicted, and funding for emergency services.
Having been born shortly after the September 11, 2001 attacks, that memory was still very fresh in the minds of all Americans. Just two months after my 7th birthday, on May 2, 2011, we got the news the United States killed Osama Bin Laden. I remember the pride that swept America, and the breaking news. This moment was most likely what made me so patriotic at a young age.
My first job was at Moscow Building Supply. I held this job for nearly 1 year, before attending Spokane Falls Community College.
Financial transparency and government accountability is important to me. In the past, I have expressed support for including small business owners on financial committees to better aid them. I also believe that county fiscal activates should be more readably available on our county website. As commissioner I attend many county events, and hold many myself, to better understand what my constituency needs.
