Tuolumne County Hotel Tax, Measure A (June 2010)
A Tuolumne County Hotel Tax, Measure A ballot question was on the June 8, 2010 ballot in Tuolumne County, where it was approved.[1]
Tuolumne County already had a hotel occupancy tax of 8%. Measure A increased that tax to 10%. The tax is paid by visitors to hotels, motels and other transient lodging in the county.[2]
Implementation of Measure A was linked to passage of Measure B so a consistent tax rate would continue to apply in all of Tuolumne County.[3]
County Administrator Craig Pedro said that increasing the tax would result in an additional $320,000 each year for the county's general operating fund, in addition to the $1.4 million generated by the 8% tax in effect at the time of the vote on Measure A.
