The city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, held elections for city council on November 3, 2015. A primary took place on May 19, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was March 11, 2015. Five of the nine city council seats were up for election. In the primary election for District 9, incumbent Ricky Burgess faced Twanda D. Carlisle, Judith K. Ginyard and Andre Young. Burgess was the winner.[1] He won re-election without opposition.[2]
