August 30, 2012

Idaho: A new magistrate judge has been appointed to the Idaho 5th Judicial District to serve Twin Falls County. Calvin Campbell was chosen by the Fifth Judicial District Magistrates Commission out of five applicants who applied for the position. Campbell succeeds Nicole Cannon, who stepped down from the position in June 2012 following a citation for driving under the influence.[1][2]

Campbell brings varied experience to the role of magistrate, having worked in private practice and served as a prosecutor in three different counties. Like all newly appointed magistrates, he will serve an introductory term of 18 months and then stand for retention. If retained, Campbell will serve a full term of four years.[1]
